I think the argument is that the most money is made early, right after the release. So protecting it as long as possible, even if it's a few weeks, is good.

Putting numbers is a more complicated matter, though: would they sell more if they didn't put that awful DRM? Wouldn't a simple DRM be a better option? There's been no serious study about the impact of DRMs, and nasty DRMs like Denuvo. A recent one has been made, but it's based on simplistic assumptions and very imprecise data. The result has a huge error margin, so I wouldn't trust it.

As a potential buyer, my take on this is the lack of respect publishers show by using aggressive DRMs like this one. I don't need a game so badly that I can't skip those with Denuvo or other nonsense. Plenty of other good games around without that inconvenience.

I said it before and I'll say it again, you wanna stop piracy? Make a demo. The #1 reason for game piracy is not lack of affordability, it's to try it out. If you remove that need by making a demo your game piracy will drop below 1%.

I assume 3 of those 5 hours is Henry brewing potions in a witches hut while preparing for a siege or some other such nonsense 🤣 I loved alchemy so dang much in KCD!

Oh! Or reloading a save cause he kept messing up the monastery stealth mission 🤣😂🤣

Some moments can probably be sped up x2 in the settings, if that helps! Otherwise, we would recommend to watch it little by little, in order to enjoy each and every cutscene.

It seems Warhorse is no longer publishing it on its own since they've been bought by THQ in 2019, placed under its daughter enterprise Deep Silver who will be publishing the game now.
I guess Warhorse has 0 say in the measures being taken so I don't think they can express their anger, if there is any, about steps being taken out of their control without stepping on some toes.
Big company greed I categorize it under. Seals the faith as well in the hope it gets taken away...

You guys did an amazing job. Best game since BG3 to come out. I've spent over 100 hours enjoying the world, and have barely experienced the second area. Best game dev company around without a doubt. Thank you!
