There is no benefit to knighting him only complication. Sentiment wouldn't enter into it. If he were knighted, oaths of obligation go both ways. He's also apparently happy enough to hang around like a puppy anyway, so more stings aren't required.

Except after Henry enacts vengeance on the final person responsible for killing his mom, he has little reason to stick around and continue risking his neck to help the local lords.

like I said since he hangs around anyway no more strings needed. Also that tendency to "take care of personal issues" may be another reason to leave well enough alone. Loose cannons often don't make the best retainers. At least beyond the "HULK SMASH" level. And any blunt tool can do that. Besides I'm more surprised they didn't hang him for loosing capon all the time, when he was "arguably" supposed to be guarding him, than him not getting knighted. if 90% of the time, as a body guard, you don't know where your "body" is your in the wrong field

EDIT If Henri s story actions were a resume, I wouldn't hire him either. You had one job. Sure, the reasons for that are many and varied and make decent excuses. And we all know how tolerant the nobility of the era were of excuses.

(and yea I realize this was done to make a more interesting story, but it makes the wrap up some what convoluted squaring that circle. It likely would have been better not to write him into a bg role if your not going to use him in that role through pretty much the entire narrative)) It's like writing about a race car driver that never actually drives anything. I would bet $ most of the player base forgot or never even realized henri actually had a specific job
