Any one find a better horse than Pebbles?
I mean after Pebbles goes Super Pebbles 2. I've inspected about every horse I can find and I've come across a couple that had a slightly higher speed, but their other stats were really bad...especially stamina which is the main stat I was looking for.

Or are there buffs from horsemanship that skew the numbers and some of these horses are better once owned?

I found the horse Meadow in a banditt camp, it has straight up better stats, but my Pebbles have some hidden buffs I have no idea where came from, like 30 courage. Where did the extra 18 courage came from, and that is naked.

But Meadow got 17 courage, 358 capacity (20 more), 219 stamina and 52 speed. But when you put on gear he get for some reason larget penalty in speed than Pebbles. There is so much about horses, gears and hidden buffs I don't understand.

I would like someone to explain where my 18 courage buff comes from (it says it's only 15, but Pebbles got 12 courage, so how does she have 30 courage without any gear).

I wish there was away to make Attila your own horse, as he is straight up an upgrade to Pebbles, but that is just for a quest as it is locked to another character.
Herring gets a similar buff.

Not until Kuttenberg can you get a better horse than either though and there's not much in it.

Hering, the horse you get from Bergow also has a hidden perk and it's better than Pebbles.
mainquest on map 1 offers you the most expensive horse (after the upgrade (it´s the other upgrade-horse)).

~10 more stamina but ~20% less carry capacity (~50 pounds)

i´m definitely sticking with pebbles.

also the game offers you the option to sell that othere horse for an extremely minor profit. if you decline, i think you still can steal this other horse, move it to the nomad camp and "upgrade" to that other horse, at which point pebbles is moved back to semine farm (not 100% sure about that) (also not sure how exactly semine turns out later on)

personally i would´ve prefered that actual upgrades would exist (other than just horse gear), but whatever.
keep pebbles, she gets a perk after u travel so far on her that buffs her up to compete with the better horses

Which horse has the highest carrying capacity? That seems to be my biggest downfall.
Can someone expound on the hidden buffs/stats for Pebbles or other horses?

I'd like to have kept Pebbles for story purposes, but more speed and carrying capacity are such improvements to QOL that I decided to buy a better horse as soon as I could. If I could have buffed Pebbles in some way I would have preferred that.

Also, is there a way to get Pebbles back after selling? I did it at the Semine estate before the wedding.

Herring is Marginally better than Pebbles. There is a marginally better horse in Kuttenberg. Pisak Lad.

Dev's should have made Pebbles good for map1, and Herring middle of the pack for map2. Otherwise Pisak Lad is only improvement in courage.

Herring (/w p) Stamina 231 - Capacity288 - Speed 56 - Courage 14 - Value 4,910
Pebbles (w p) Stamina 210 - Capacity338 - Speed 55 - Courage 12 - Value 4,660
Pisek Lad Stamina 194 - Capacity338 - Speed 55 - Courage 23 - Value 4,240

good choice if you want to use horse charge attacks.
personally i will stick with pebbles bc another -10% stamina (down from herring to pebbles), might be a problem when the horse race dlc is out. pebbles & herring arent the best horses (assuming the list is correct) for horse races, but maybe we´ll get our own stable (with the dlc) to be able to easily switch between horses.

All of the normal answers for "horses better than Pebbles" are either very slightly worse than pebbles or only so slightly better than pebbles that it doesn't matter.

IMO, there are two real answers

1) Gringolet - 5 speed over Pebbles and still has good carrying capacity

2) Kincsem - My preferred horse. Best speed and highest stamina in the game, but has low carrying capacity. HOWEVER, you get a *lot* of carrying capacity from saddles. Kincsem can still carry 300kg worth of stuff if you give him a dragon saddle. With the limited gold that vendors have and the limited use for gold, I don't think there's much of a reason to carry 600kg (henry + horse) worth of stuff around with you. I typically just have henry carry everything and keep him with the prague saddle.

The main stats I am looking for is endurance with secondary speed...courage coming in a close third. After Pebbles got the buff I never found anything better.

Carrying capacity doesn't matter since money doesn't have much of a purpose. Skill training is the only reason, but I barely used that in my first play through. I finished the game with like 50k groschen and I didn't loot anything for long time before the end of the game. My next play though I am going to loot nothing but the occasional low weight gauntlets or helm and stuff I will use. The horse will not need to haul much.

that entirely depends on what you are looking for, if you are looking for capacity pebbles is straight up better than hering, and the other stats are very similar to hering as well

Stamina is not that important if you have a perk which restores it. Speed on the other hand is useful for getting around. Courage is paramount when you trample and whack bandits mounted.
