I hate Mutt.
Its nice to get bonuses when its around and it can occasionally prove of a little help in a fight, but its not worth it to constantly dump food into him to prevent the obedience from taking a nose dive. I understand that your taking care of it like its a real (ish) dog, but I would just rather not. One hit in combat and suddenly I'm the worst owner ever and I didn't even want him getting involved in the first place. Also the track command just doesn't seem to do a whole lot considering you need an item for it to actually track and I haven't been in many situations where that comes in handy. Maybe I just need to skill up but is it ever worth it, other than for the passive bonuses to skill checks?

Mutt is useless other than doing quest stuff :scserraupset:

My favorite is him following you into buildings or outside in property that you aren't supposed to be on and keeping people JUST outside the door so they spot you instantly when you get out

Kill it. Realism. Oh wait this developer said they cared about realism but actually don't.

If the dog annoys you, just tell him to go home and he'll leave you alone to do your thing.
I get that it might be a bother when he gets underfoot while you're running or screws with your stealth, but the food thing is a non issue. I've always got WAY more food than I need even if I feed him multiple times a day. (you know you can loot bodies, right?)

Eat him over a flame with garlic and gravy. Most dogs are useless. Including the weird barking broken wolves.

Why are you trying to always keep his loyalty maxed? He is still mildly useful at low loyalty and if for some reason you need him in peak condition you can just feed him a bunch before starting a hard battle.

Its your own compulsion to min/max that is making this tedius.

Agree ...
i didnt like to drag him around in KCD1 i usually left him at Theresas place but in KCD2 i have not found suitable place yet where to leave him ... so kinda forced to take him with me :)

I think he's bugged at the moment and will be less annoying when they fix him. I just left him at home base.

I actively tried not to even get him, but the nomad horse race takes you by the wolf den.

Cut scene in the middle of a race...what joy

mutt is awesome at drawing aggro for a few seconds until he gets too much dmg on him and he has to run away.

ye but he will hang out at tavern if i am not mistaken (feel bad for that choice) ... first i need to find home for him...
I love mutt. My hound master I think is like lv19. I got mutt set up to be a pain in the ass for any and every enemy I sic him on and it's been workin well for me so far. When meeting the Devil I got stuck in a 1v3 and I was able to use mutt to distract/kill one of the enemies so I only had to focus on 2 of em

Mutt can actually help a lot in combat, he can keep a second opponent busy while you deal with the one in front of you or bite your current opponent and leave them wide open to attack.

That said, I don't like how often he likes to get under foot, reminds me of the dog in Fallout 4 but at least Mutt doesn't stand in doorways and block you.

Also it would be nice if you didn't have to get perfectly in front of him to praise him. Praising actually raises his loyalty just as much as food if you space it out over time, and gives you houndmaster experience.
I played through most of the game without him.
