KCD is just Skyrim with survival mods and immersion mods
This game is literally just Skyrim with survival mods and the immersive mods that let you see your legs and arms. Except it doesn't have the exciting lore of Skyrim and instead it's just about some random backwater slum

What's even the point? If I wanted to manage a hunger meter and worry about how dirty my character is I would just play modded Skyrim...

Nope, you're just trying to push your own agenda. You're like him, you don't get it, you just have very different things you dislike than the OP, but the result is the same.
To me this is one of the best games ever made as is.

What agenda?
Yes, I'm with Big Mordhau and Big Skyrim.

It's okay to like games that suck.

KCD2 is pretty decent in most aspects, the world as a whole is just kinda meh, and of course the combat sucks.
Has no rhyme or reason to what's happening half the time, and yeah feels turn based.

Sounds like you just want Skyrim.

I don't know about that, but the game is definitely more streamlined than the first one.

Sure if you break it down into the most basic game elements.

But once you get past the open world foundation they're very different. So different that this opinion is a little baffling.

Are you people low IQ or something? Are you not at all aware of the sandbox element that I'm alluding to? You know, the scheduled NPCs with day/night cycles, the crime system, breaking into people's houses at night to steal, etc., is all very reminiscent of TES. The devs literally said a week ago that their biggest inspirations were Morrowind and Oblivion. Good God, man. Not to mention all of the subtle, immersive interactions with NPCs, for instance people were raving about the fact that if you dropped an item in town a villager could pick it up and take it for themselves... Skyrim did the same thing.

Sorry, did you say that TES invented day/night cycles?

None of these systems are unique to TES anyway. Any given game in the immersive sim genre will tick most of these boxes.

Where did I claim that? I'm pointing out how it is similar in terms of sandbox elements. How many other first-person RPGs have scheduled NPCs that you can kill, pickpocket, etc., the ability to break into people's houses at night and steal things, and a focus on immersive interactions with NPCs like comments they make to you depending on your skills, appearance, etc... the devs LITERALLY just said that it was a spiritual successor to the TES games.

Anyone who claims this isn't heavily influenced and made as a successor to old school Bethesda is a liar.

You think skyrim is an immersive sim and features immersive interactions with npcs?

RDR2 is an example of the game that meets your cherry picked list of features. I don't know every game that exists or even have perfect recollection of the mechanics of every game i've ever played. I'm sure there are more.

KCD has plenty of features and mechanics that skyrim *doesn't* have, which is why you had to specify "with mods" in your OP. And I guarantee you that many of those features have no skyrim mod equivalent, mostly because the creation engine as a whole just sucks at animations.

"influenced by" is not nearly the same thing as "is just"

"Heavily influenced by" quit lying to yourself lol. This game is built on Elder Scrolls' formula. Wouldn't exist without it.
