Mutt is too annoying to keep around
I always take care of him but everyone annoys me because hes always barking (tho half the time he isn't) he also loves to walk in font of me stopping me, and when im sneaking and people discover mutt and are telling him to go away he leads them to me so I get to be discover too. freaking useless, the combat inst bad like it was in the first game so there is no point on keeping him around unless you need him to sniff something

Actually he vas very helpful to me on the first map.
On the second map... I didn't need his charisma buff nor help during combat, plus he was sabotaging my sneakage so I sent him to remain at Den.

he kept following me around even after telling him to sit still while im sneaking around in nebakov and had enough of it
I don't know why he circles around the enemy and never attack. So annoying but good doggy.
I quite liked having him around but sometimes he's a bit much. I've had guards and people chase after me and complain about him barking even though he's not doing anything. Forcing him to heel eventually calms them down. I don't know if the quality of food boosts his obedience quicker but sometimes even at level 30 hounds master (which you achieve fast even without trying) he quickly gets low obedience and then growls and refuses to do anything useful. After 60-70hours I sent him packing for now. But i will miss his face randomly poking through the dice table or during cutscenes 🤣

Does commanding him to come to heel not work?

His AI in first KCD wasn't the greatest, here is even worse.
You lnow there is a command for him that is called: Stay ?

Just asking

Yeah Mutt is a bit of a gimmick, something to play with for a bit. But as you say he starts to get on your nerves after a bit. I sent him home in the first game.

Same feeling, compared to KCD he is no longer fun. Way too much time is spent keeping him happy. His food needs exceed mine, by a lot, and I don't even have the food perk. Does not eat dried meats. NPC reaction to him is inconstant and annoying as well: "Oh what a good dog.". Same NPC, at the end of a dialog: "Bad Dog, get out of here."

For me he is buggy too, first he had no Praise, now he has Praise bu the Hunt option is gone (yes, I have the perk, yes I used to have the Hunt option). I tried to park him at the Inn for a few days, but that did not fix anything.

Time to send him home.

I got rid of him pretty quick never called back.
I've had no issue with Mutt in the areas where he's most useful (outside of towns where you can face multiple opponents.) In towns he's a pain. I just tell him to stay somewhere random and only call him when leaving town.

Outside of towns I keep him free unless I'm going stealth. When I see hostiles I get to a medium distance and tell him to stay (about the distance you stop at for encounters further away when fast travelling, not the Ride Up distance). I then go stealth and murderize everything. If I stuff things up I immediately whistle for Mutt as combat starts. Mutt then comes to help tank vs multiple opponents.
