Well if it was an item you had to repair in the smithy to make useful, then you downgraded your own sword. Overheating the metal, too many strikes in the same place, or simply not flipping it enough during hammering. One of these, or a combination of these, killed your quality.

YOU downgraded your sword.

Skill issue. This game is not easy for the casual gamer.

But in the end, its not an issue as there are MUCH better swords/weapons in the game later on.

if you let your weapon item whatever drop durability to 0 it will drop one quality level.
so your Q3 sword smashed into durability 0 will become Q2.

Yeah I know but I did not do that. I'm talking specifically about radzigs reforged sword and then they changed the name and also the quality. It was gold i literally just sharpened it along with hanush's sword then cut-scene then bam my sword is garbage.

Its an UI error........

I forged 4 swords, all stated aka. showed "lvl 3", but in the backpack i got 2 lvl 3, 1 lvl 2 and one master crafted aka. lvl 4
Hopefully they patch this game for the next ten years like skyrim did some of the stuff is so weird in this game. I even killed every single praguer in the camp including the boss and it made no difference at all like ok fine i guess.

also just in case you dont understand what im saying i will elaborate and say it lost 2000g value and about 10 power. It's not simply a ui error its the fact that they didnt account for my master blacksmish perk that let me reforge it to level 3 in the first place and just replaced my sword with a completely different one that they expected me to have.

You are talking about a quality bug, you can make the reforged sword into tier 4.

Forge the 'quest item' to tier 3 as that's the cap for quest items. Save the game (important). Forge another regular sword to tier 4. Reload the last game and forge a regular sword again.

When you look into inventory it ends up turning the quest item (usually the reforged weapon or unique recipes) into tier 4.

You sharpened the two swords together and it bugged out, causing it to share the same quality tier as the latter sword.

Also be careful to never let the weapon reach zero durabilty and break because even though you can repair it again it will be permantly downgroaded to a lower tier if that happens.

I guess what he means is - He HAD the Sword reforged at level3 and after the mainquest sequenze it dropped to level 2 due to the namechange from Radzigs to Henry's Sword.

So nothing to "reforge" anymore ;)

What I think is an real issue at this point... why can we reforge the sword (and are stuck at level3) as soon as we receive it, but if we would wait until the end of the game, we can reforge it to a level4 sword instead...

So either we ignore the "best" weapon (Longsword wise) for all of the Game and have it in an even "better" version for... what? The last few not solved sidequests and maybe some late late late main quests - or we have do deal with a sword which is just level3? Lame design, same with Pebbles... adding a statboost after 35km on riding it to make it "better" than nearly all other Horses... but the player have to deal with all the "flame" and "hate" until than... best way would be "autoride" for what? An hour or two in circles to get the statboost asap and not have to deal with NPC reactions... bad design for me. (even it the game overall is pretty good)
