Skill issue. This game is not easy for the casual gamer.
But in the end, its not an issue as there are MUCH better swords/weapons in the game later on.
so your Q3 sword smashed into durability 0 will become Q2.
Forge the 'quest item' to tier 3 as that's the cap for quest items. Save the game (important). Forge another regular sword to tier 4. Reload the last game and forge a regular sword again.
When you look into inventory it ends up turning the quest item (usually the reforged weapon or unique recipes) into tier 4.
You sharpened the two swords together and it bugged out, causing it to share the same quality tier as the latter sword.
I guess what he means is - He HAD the Sword reforged at level3 and after the mainquest sequenze it dropped to level 2 due to the namechange from Radzigs to Henry's Sword.
So nothing to "reforge" anymore ;)
What I think is an real issue at this point... why can we reforge the sword (and are stuck at level3) as soon as we receive it, but if we would wait until the end of the game, we can reforge it to a level4 sword instead...
So either we ignore the "best" weapon (Longsword wise) for all of the Game and have it in an even "better" version for... what? The last few not solved sidequests and maybe some late late late main quests - or we have do deal with a sword which is just level3? Lame design, same with Pebbles... adding a statboost after 35km on riding it to make it "better" than nearly all other Horses... but the player have to deal with all the "flame" and "hate" until than... best way would be "autoride" for what? An hour or two in circles to get the statboost asap and not have to deal with NPC reactions... bad design for me. (even it the game overall is pretty good)
