NPC Shooting faster in crossbow tournament

As the tittle says, by the time i even load a bolt their already shooting i can hear and see the click way before mines. Is all crossbows the same speed or no?

"Heavy" crossbows (higher damage) shoot significantly slower than light ones. They are definitely not all the same speed.
Use a super light xbow in tournaments, you don't need high damage because you're not trying to kill the target you're just trying to hit it.

Cheapest hunting crossbow

you increase in draw speed as you increase in skill. There is no timer.. just take your time. If they have all done there shots.. they all have to wait for you to finish.

don't remember what it's called but one of the really cheap ones (old hunting crossbow?) even says in the description that it reloads really fast

first one to finish shooting gets an extra 5 points though

I'm pretty much maxed but they still win in the last shots, you get a bonus multiplier if your the first to Finnish.

I'm thinking things still need to be kinked out since the game is still new, I know I dominated in the first one. also only reason is spoiler alert so do NOT continue reading is that i had a random encounter where the NPC just keep on hitting bullseye and there was no winning.
