I found one over a week later that rolled away on me. Couldn't find the damn thing on the night I shot it, but then one day just walking down the road, I see a nest on its side with the nearest tree over 200 yards away.
In fact, a picture describes just how far it rolled, better than words can.

I mean what can you get out of those what you can't get elsewere?
But I like to find my arrows that missed my target, either with outlines, coloured feathers or at least, that you don't have to look that precise on the right place to get the pickup option.
Its a bit of a dice roll, but in this one its typically 1 of 4 things. (not sure if actual chance on some or all are set, but any random shot nest would have a 1 in 4 chance without knowing ahead of time).
Eggs, not much rather small. The least valuable thing from nests by far, consider this rolling a 1 on the D4.
Lock picks. Honestly while not a valuable item, it can be an important one. Until are able to buy or find some elsewhere, a few of those nests early on can net you a solid supply of picks to start thieving with. Let's consider it rolling the 2 on that D4.
Blacksmith parts, such as cross guards. More valuable than picks groschen wise, but not really that useful early on. All the recipes actually needing those things aren't until later on, and at that point you can buy all you need. They can provide some nice extra cash early on thou. Let's call this the 3 on the D4.
Jewelry. The most valuable nest find money wise, in some cases providing over 100 for that 1 spent arrow. Clearly the area is infested with magpies, as shiny things are definitely being taken up to some of those high up nests. This is what I consider rolling the best roll for loot on a nest. Whether a necklace, spectacles or a brooch, when I get a shiny item from a nest, I feel like it was well worth the effort to shoot it down.
