No. Check blacksmith or armorer stores if you didn't loot it from random bandits.

If you're in the first map it's a bit of a pain, some materials are rare and can only be found exploring.

But you'll eventually get way more than you need, first after getting into the castle you'll have a blacksmith with plenty of materials, and once you're on the second map you never have to worry about materials anymore.

TL;DR I wouldn't bother too much and just wait 'til I hit the big shops
