Upgrade horse
I dont get how I can upgrade my horse!
There was a horse merchant in Semine, but all hes Horses were pretty bad.
I found some horses in citys etc real nice, but it only say I can steal etc..
So one time A nobleman helped me with some bandits and died.
Hes horse was nice so I tried to "Steal" it since he died in the battle.. problem is after riding it and stopping somewhere I whistled for it.. and my old horse came instead!
So How can I upgrade my horse?

Just get Pebbles. After you ride her for 35km, she gets an upgrade and becomes one of the best horses in the game.

Well if you want to keep a stolen horse you have to take it to the black market guy at the nomad camp. I'd recommend just getting pebbles back instead of fussing with all of it though. Pebbles with her perk is several times better than anything you can get in Trotsky.

I hear Herring might be slightly better than Pebbles after getting his perk.
Pebbles is still pretty bad tho.

The only reason to use her is because she's free.

Pebbles with perk

210 stamina, 338 capacity, 55 speed, and 12 courage.

Herring with perk

231 stamina, 288 capacity, 56 speed, and 14 courage.

Gringolet

194 Stamina, 288 Capacity, 60 speed, 15 Courage

Meadow

219 stamina, 358 capacity, 52 speed, 17 courage

Pisek Lad

194 Stamina, 338 Capacity, 55 speed, 23 courage

So Herring is fine if you want him instead, but Gringolet is really the only one that can be called a meaningful upgrade

Aha yes! My current horse is Herring.. Ive seen a few horses much better but no way to buy or steal and keep them.. 🥲🥲
I didn't get Pebbles' perk but I went with Kämpfer, Wilhelmine and currently I use Pisek Lad.

Pisek Lad is still better thanks to its innate courage.

I'm 60 hours into the game and have yet to have pebbles throw me off herself. I've only ever been dismounted by riding into a tree branch or getting forcibly pulled off by an enemy.

Horse combat doesn't involve using your horse as a tank. It's hit and run tactics which means the NPCs won't be able to even grab you.
