You can level up the skills and stats of Jindřich outside the main quest.
Level progression is faster in KCD2. It's very noticeable. There's practically a meme of "i'm level 9000 and i'm just about ready to go to the wedding." Add a Henry's Fox and it's completely ridiculous.
If you merely do all the side quests in Trosky, you'll be around level 20 in most skills.
Besides, i think people are confused as to what kind of a game KCD/KCD2 really is: According to normos it's a simulator of some type... Which is definitely not true.
It's Skyrim with more "life-life" gameplay mechanics. But it's a far cry from a game like Arma: The "simulation" is more of an "immersive sim" style of thing: Like Deus Ex: They attempt to simulate a chunk of specific area / time realistically.
But it definitely doesn't play like an actual simulator. It's literally the same type of game as Skyrim.
KCD2 is a great game no doubt there but it could have been so much better if they had not made certain decisions, some of which were borderline stupid.
Saying that it's still the best RPG on steam to date.
Furthermore, it has always been the people at warhorse who said they wanted to recreate historical realism... The fact that it is still a game where it has classic game elements such as running around wearing armor or having an inventory the size of an Amazon warehouse, does not mean that you have to put me in too much trouble to force myself to go where the developers want... If I shoot with a rifle (even from the game) it should eliminate an unarmored enemy instantly, given that the CaC's ability does not affect the level.
