how to two hand a longsword?

I just noticed this when trying to use my tier 4 dueling longsword but every animation is one handed and it doesn't take up both slots in my inventory like a poleaxe does, the stats are also showing it to be weaker than my knight's shortsword so I'm confused, it's supposed to be the strongest sword I can make but he wont use it two handed any ideas? https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3428744061

you have to remove your left hand from your pants first

there's a perk for that - i don't remember the name of it, but there's one which allows you to use 2 hand swords with 1.

dis is my inventory, it's the dueling longsword in slot 1, it doesn't look like the poleaxe in slot 3 and for some reason if you check the stats below my knight sword has better stats when considering the blunt damage it does https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3428751321

that's the opposite of what I want, i deliberately didn't take that perk because I have a 1h/shield setup ready for use I just want my longsword to do big damage but its' weaker than my shortsword :(

edit: actually i guess i did take the perk, i used some lethean water and it takes up both slots now but he's still swinging with one hand lol
