Alcoholism
Holy ♥♥♥♥ does this need to be adjusted.

My Henry only had alcohol from 3 sources. Saviors to save the game, Arty potions and Aesop potions.

And he has alcoholism. Not just any alcoholism. He has "obsessed" alcoholism, but which is apparently a very advanced stage of alcoholism.

Feels kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥ that I can't save the game away from a bed and/or use the alchemy system without this possibility.

I'm abstaining from all pots now and taking my Hair' o dog regular but the debuff hasn't even started to tick down and apparently there are multiple levels it has to cycle thru.

This is over tuned or just a bad mechanic.

🤷🏻‍♂️

Jesus, how often are you saving the game that Henry has become an alcoholic just from Saviour schnapps?
Wow, I drink alchool like no tomorrow and never add this problem. Are you getting drunk ?

I never reach the 'drunk' state so maybe alchoolism appen when drunk to often ?
Lol i drink every alcoholic drink i loot, im always drunk and im not even that alcoholic...
I can definitely relate to this issue! In my experience with Henry's advanced alcoholism was wild. I brewed over 200+ moonshine batches just to max out my Alchemy, and then I went all in from level 22 up to level 30 Drinking by consuming everything I had. I ended up drinking not only all of my moonshine but almost every bit of wine, beer, schnapps, and mead stored in my personal chest.

It took 2400 ingame hours of abstinence to finally cure Henry’s alcoholism. It makes sense given the insane amounts of alcohol needed to level up the drinking skill, but the wait was real. I had several game crashes due to the “Too many Entities” error, and the constant cycle of waiting, eating dried boar meat, and then more waiting (while sleeping only on every 10th day to avoid another crash) was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ maddening.

BUT, I don’t think the game needs to adjust this mechanic. It’s exactly this kind of intricate, unforgiving gameplay that I love

Was leveling drinking by downing booze for every meal

Noticed obsessed

Took 5 days to start bringing the wheel down
5 more days its only at half gone

You can get rid of it easy by doing a missiom that involves heavy bringe drinking ironically. Like Invaders quest where you drink with the Cumans.

The mechanic is to punish powerleveling drinking in a single sitting. That said how often are you drinking those items and what is your level in drinking? I needed to drink like an entire innkeepers stock of alchohol twice to get to obesession.
The whole thing with the save system in this game is supposed to deter from save-scumming. I mean, it's a viable way to play the game if you choose to do so, but you're not really supposed to be drinking a Savior Schnapps every 1.5 minutes.

You can brew (Alchemy) a potion call Old dog's something. You can get rid of your alchoolism directly with that but you need to craft a high tier one.

Are you sure? I had forgotten I did this quest. For some reason I didn't think the scripted drinking scenes were taken into account.

Now that you mention it, I only noticed the debuff after I finished this quest.

Its a single player game bro and I have a job and kids. I'm not replaying hours worth of content to uphold some "save scumming morality clause". I've literally dismounted from my horse and fallen over dead. I'm gonna save about every 10 minutes.
