Not really. My only map annoyance, which I think is a bug.. is "your" beds do not show up on the map or compass until you are right up on them.

There's a mini-map, it's called a compass and it's at the top of your screen.

No, "we" don`t need a minimap. Use the compass. If the game is to hard for you don`t force your "hold my hand please tools" on others.

OP is like many that want to keep gaming bad. You don't need a mini-map, x-ray vision, and so on. The fun of gaming has been sucked out of it because of this stuff.

everybody disagreeing, but I agree with you. My pc isn't that great and I always have to wait 3+ seconds for the map to load. It gets annoying when I'm in a town, trying to pinpoint a certain location and I spend so much time just waiting for my map to load :/ I'm checking Nexus mods for a minimap every day lol

The compass helps, but sometimes, especially in kuttenberg, it doesnt really tell you where to turn, so im constantly opening up the map.

MyPC doesn't meet the minimum specs in any way (8GB RAM, i5-530, GTX 950) and my map opens instantly, so I don't understand this.

So the developers should waste time on a hand holding feature instead of creating actual content and fixing actual bugs and glitches, just because some people like yourself have really weak hardware that struggles to do something as basic as opening the map.

What they should do is release hardcore mode already. Those of us who are real gamers want to play the game without ANY of the numerous hand holding tools that are already in the game. We want to actually have to pay attention to our surroundings and use landmarks to navigate in order to prevent ourselves from becoming completely lost.
