For information, in CryEngine 3.8 (which KCD2 is based off) the following map size are possible: 512x512m, 1024x1024m, 2048x2048m, 4096x4096m.
are those real meters?? 2x2km, thats like a small village with some fields..
The world is condensed, smaller than in real life, like almost every RPG.
KCD1's map is 4096x4096 meter.
CryEngine 5 would have allowed map sizes up to 8192x8192 meter in size, so KCD1 + both KCD2 maps could be combined in one map big open world map. But KCD2 stayed on v3 linage. Only a handful open world games would have been bigger than a possible 8192x8192m map, e.g. GTA V and Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
