The bird chirping is out of hand in the forest

I don't remember if this was the case in KCD1 but I think it was, but the bird chirping is really out of hand and way to loud in many forest areas. I really love the forests in KCD1 and 2 and compared to many other games they actually do look like real forests. But the sfx of the birds is way too aggressive and often it feels like you are in the middle of a zoo and have a bird perched right at your shoulder screaming into your ear.

After more thinking about it I don't think the main problem is even the volume so much but the fact that the sound is constant without a source. What I mean is that when you walk or ride around the bird chirping sound is constant and static, again like if you had a bird sitting on your shoulder. The sound does not originate from different places in the he forests like it should be from different birds. Naturally it would be much to ask for actual birds flying around and sitting on branches and making sound (though of course it would be awesome). But it would be a huge improvement to get rid of the static sound source (or at least damper it somewhat) and instead have "bird sound sources" placed at random in the trees around you as you move around in the area. Hope this would be possible to make as an update for KCD2 and if not please make this a reality in KCD3 if nothing else as it is quite annoying as it is implemented right now and it really distracts from the otherwise super immersive forests.

Those loud birds were a specific kind of bird in KCD1 and there was a quest to catch them. I haven't encountered a related quest in this game and the noise really hasn't bothered me but maybe if you shoot down the nests and steal the eggs they'll go away?

I agree with you, that bird sound really really annoys me. Almost to the extend that I want to quit the game just because of that constant sound.

So if your playing on pc there is a way to take bird noises off, just search it, and a way to get sights on bow and crossbow, on kc1 not shut on kc2 I got mine for ps5 cause my pc is down 😪

Here is a Mod to remove those Bird Sounds:

There is a modder that mutes or lowers the volume of certain in-game sounds. They also remove sounds by request and looks like someone requested to remove the bird sounds.
Go to the mods "Optional files" there is one for No Bird Sounds.

Its a single player game and clearly many people are requesting certain sounds/animals to be muted/volume lowered.

There's a particular quest for that in one village alone, on a single tree. So if you hear it outside of that it seems like something got stuck.

The game has some really wonky sound issues but birds.... haven't been one so far. At least on my end.


PS: Stop buying trashy 5.1/7.1 Headsets ;) get some DT-1990 Pro, pure Stereo and I can make out where the sound comes from anyway.

Oh God, birds chirping loudly bothered me since KCD 1. But may be I am just grumpy. There was an option to turn ambiance sound down in the first game. I just turn the sound down when it's too loud. In KCD 2 dogs and wolves are howling everywhere I go.

The birds won't shut up around here (rural) haven't really noticed them in game.
