Bug: Stuck in combat with Menhard

I went to see Menhard a few days after completing his quest. We started training with swords, and now I can't quit the fight. When I press L1 Henry cries or something, sometimes I get the menu but when I pick "I surrender", Menhard puts his sword away but picks it up right away. So, we're in a loop. Also, I'm not getting the menu I usually get with other fighters, to tell them they can attack now.

Anyway, I was able to exit the arena, but he pursued me outside, he's not attacking me, just in a fighting stance. I left the place, took my horse, and galloped to another town, and the "rabbit" is still in fleeting mode. The game thinks I'm still in combat, so I cannot save.

Ultimately, I reloaded a previous save.

PS: I tried again with he same result. Something is not right here.

Same here. The whole Menhard quest things and the Kuttenberg Tourney is so buggy

i had the same problem, i could not fix this. was stuck so i cheated my way through this quest and unarmed defeated them. was stuck.

Had the same experience, even rode to the next village to escape him, but had to go back and face him eventually.

You can fight him with your normal weapon, when I hit him on the street 1-2 times he said that was enough for him for today and that was it.

this happens when you hit him after he says stop. To solve the issue, you can pick up your real sword and 'kill' him, or drop his health to 0. He won't die, but tell you again to stop and continue tomorrow and walk away.

This is an odd bug, I do a training fight with training weapons, right from the off I can only do battle cries and can't chat with him normally. At the end of the bout he then takes out his real sword and comes at me, so previously I had just beaten him until he stops, but this time he is stuck with no life and keeps coming at me and I cannot speak to him.

Had to go back to another save. Was rather frustrating.

I mostly ignored analyzing ingame names, just taken them as is.
People why you didn't point at this when the forum was under siege by grifters? It would have been so much fun to smack their false info with actual ingame info.

I found a solution! I experienced the same problem, but if you put down youre sword and start fighting him with fists he will eventually give up after hitting him a while. Hes health will decrease much faster punching him than hitting him with your training sword. Hope this helps! :)
