Question about drying racks.
I read online that to use a drying rack you walk up to it, click on it, select your herbs and they dry instantly.

But, I'm at my buddy the blacksmiths in the first area and there is a drying rack on the map here, but it seems to be inside a private residence, and every time i open the door to go in I am automatically a bad guy that needs to leave and never come back?

Whats the deal? I tried talking to everyone to ask to use the drying rack but no one has any talking options.

Sorry is this seems silly, but I've never played a game like this before where you pretty much don't know how to do anything, and the penalty for doing the wrong thing is getting a bad reputation...or worse. I just want to dry some herbs for Pete's sake, don't want to argue with some hag about it.

Also, I've still yet to be able to kill anything, never mind 3 of anything at once..... I've still gotta go see that trainer to "get good" I guess, but he will probably try to kill me too, or have me locked up for saying the wrong words or stepping on his flowers or something.. lol, it sure is a beautiful game though.

theres one near the alchemist table in the first village, you can go there freely. You can still use people' ♥♥♥♥ if you are quick enough tho, even when they are screaming at you.
this game has a learning curve for sure but when it clicks it feels great!

regards to the drying rack, yes herbs dry instantly, and there are plenty drying racks scattered throughout towns, its just a matter of locating them

little tip to make speech options a bit easier- charisma gear is your friend, also, if you aquire books, read them, even the lore books that you just flick through will give you scholarship xp which in turn makes speech checks easier.

and ALWAYS have a saviour schnapps to hand, or save at your bed before you head out, i cant tell you how many hours ive lost to overconfidence and a quick humbling!
Oh, well, maybe the drying rack is in the tavern and not the house next to it? The place on the map shows the ranch style house next to the tavern..

I'll try that tonight, might have been looking in the wrong place.

And for sure, the game has got me hooked no doubt, I'm mostly looking forward to at least being competitive in fights instead of always losing. But, I gotta make some coin first though, and making potions seems to be pretty important so I gotta figure that out too.

So far I have just been exploring and finding cool stuff, like the quest to get the sword from the hermit, i did all of the pre-quest quests, then went to see him, he told me to get lost and that was that, no other talk options... so I wandered around for awhile waiting for dark so I could loot his house see if he has it stashed, started collecting some useful herbs, and found the sword just sticking out of the ground. Boom, quest over. So not sure if I missed anything with the hermit, but I am going to the wedding.

I'm loving the game, but you are correct, the learning curve is steep..
There are many drying racks in private residences, but you cannot use those. Only use the ones in public places. You can tell by the warning that you are entering a private area.
