INB4 Also, my personal opinion doesn't and can't be changed with "you are wrong as my opnion is more right"-statementing, so no need to bother.
Also, KCD2 is on GOTY list this year and if isn't it really should be.
A real shame.
* I miss the wayside ambushes by bandits. Where is that rope across the path?
* Too few treasure maps.
* I miss playing dice everywhere. There are too few dice playing NPCs to justify the bronze, silver and gold levels. Why can't I play "beggars" to 8000 points? I don't know, but seems just having a single type of badge would have been better. That would allow for poor champion players with interesting dice.
* I miss Mutt, but the current implementation is broken/annoying and no fun. I'm supposed to find ways to integrate him into the gameplay, but instead have to spent hours carefully monitoring his dietary needs, that no longer include dried foods. Hunting is no longer a big deal, so don't need him for that either.
They know the big money is made when you please the modern audience
I'm in og fan base and I like the KCD2. So does that mean that I'm part of "OG"'s and modern audience? That's cool.
End of the day, it’s a fictional game and expecting it to be 100% historically accurate is ludicrous. Might as well complain that it doesn’t take days or weeks to make a proper sword.
The game is still good, it has refined everything that the original did so it feels a little better (love the move the cauldron up and down for alchemy rather than just using the bellows and guessing how many times I have to do that to get the boil going for how long).
What I would say happened is that the publishers and owners of Warhorse basically said "include modern political crap because we are the ones funding it" and since the original team have no say in it anymore just had to go along with it. They then tried to minimize it as much as possible or make it as obvious as possible so gamers could avoid it rather easily if they want to.
With the current shifting of culture though a lot of people, after years of being gaslit by companies, are not trusting what exists as being not that deep, because so many companies have made it clear that it's either agree with them or be called a bigot.
It didn't help that Vavra went on the offensive on social media, attacking people who were defending the game leading up to release such as Rev says deku.
I like the game despite of DEI infusion.
I hope they will course correct in the future.
I hope they go all in the other way. Half way through KCD3 Musa kills Henry with a golf club and you continue playing as him.
