Can't Praise Mutt

I retrieved Mutt, but since I got him I'm not able to praise him, just feed him and give orders etc. Pressing Talk (E) does nothing, and there is no option to praise (V) like on the horse. Am I doing something wrong or do I need to load an old save as I'm bugged?

same, is bugged. tried to oreder him home hoping someting change but now i can't even get him back

I had the same, but about an in-game day later it started working

ok i literally resolved the problem right now, by beating him and when he came back i can praise him

Yes, it seemed to sort itself out in a an ingame day or two

This is the correct solution.
After showing him who's the boss, T to pass 1 hour and he'll return.
