Medicine to Give to Captain Thomasn HELP

I need someone to help me. I'm brewing the medicine potion but something is wrong. there is no smoke and nothing happens. Should I do something before? steal a lockpick to open the chest. and carry the sacks. Can someone send me save files so I can skip this part?

You can buy lockpicks from the stable guy or get some from smithing if you have the perk. Then talk to this guy who runs this place who holds his side in pain and after some medicin dialoge checks he´ll send you to brew a potion for him and allows you to enter the upper areas of the castle and there you´ll find chests from an alchemist which you can lockpick to get the potion to cure him as well as a potion against fewer for captain Thomas.

In the upper area of one of the castle towers are two small rooms from the alchemist who isn´t there at the time and there you´ll find his chests with the potions. When you go through the gateway to the upper yard it´s the castle to your left.

Lockpick the chest in the room opposite the alchemy room

No you don´t. There are potions in the chests. All you have to do is lockpick them.
