I think it's more annoyance that the developers completely sold out and ditched historical accuracy in order to appease the woke cult. The game is so woke that they give you an option to have Henry act COMPLETELY against his character to befriend the evil cuman invaders who destroyed his home.

To me, that immersion destroying option to befriend the cumans is infinitely more woke than retconning some characters to include a gay romance option.

It's as believable as John Snow deciding to befriend the white walkers. As believable as John Wick deciding to murder the puppy his wife left him. As believable as Superman deciding to join Zod and help him exterminate the human species.

People are also understandably quick to anger when they see signs of the woke mind virus infecting a beloved game/show/movie franchise due to the overwhelming number of game/show/movie franchises that have already been COMPLETELY destroyed by putting woke DEI messaging above all else.

Its 100% optional and abolutly not forced like others game !
My Henry is not gay, i take bath with all female of the game and if i can ♥♥♥♥ i do it too.

Man, at least they could've chosen someone else to romance, not your best friend in the story! Honestly, I think people are afraid that Hans might try hitting on them during the playthrough. Only imagining my best friend IRL trying to flirt with me makes my stomach turn.
