Radzig's Longsword
At which point does it become Henry's longsword and I can finally reforge it to tier 4? In it's current state it's not even the best longsword in the Kuttenberg area, and I'm just forced to lug it around.

Only after you beat the game.

You can reforge the sword anytime, Radzig don't even notice the changes when you show him the sword at the end of the game than its overall the best weapon in the game.

if you reforge it early you cant get it to tier 4 and you can't reforge it again
Make sure you have 20 Strength and 23 Agility before you attempt to reforge that sword, otherwise you won’t be able to use it.

As is, Radzig’s sword is still better than a Tier-4 common longsword.

Once you have the stats to benefit from reforging the sword, take a strong/henry’s quick finger potion and savior schnapps. Then, keep attempting to forge the sword until you end up with a Tier-4 (M) Radzig’s Sword.

You can reforge it any time and it will be stronger than it's current form. Even stronger than most (if not all, haven't checked...) longswords of any quality

HOWEVER

Radzig's sword is the only one which I failed to get to tier 4. Some people are saying it's bugged and doesn't have a tier 4.

I'm pretty sure it's weightless as it is a quest item, despite having a weight value.

If you can carry around a weightless sword for a large portion of the game, that’s super cool.
Not bugged, afaik you can only get it to tier 4 after completing the main quest line. Unless you perfectly craft it using potions and have your craftsmanship fully upgraded. If you reforge it prior to the end of the main quest line without those attiributes you can only get it to a tier 3. It's best to not reforge it until after you've beaten the main quest line, even if you made the mistake of doing it prior like I did, it's still one of, if not the best long sword in the game regardless of it being a tier 3.

I’m dubious. All you should need is 30 crafting and Martin’s secret perk.

the rank 4 dueling sword is slightly better than reforged quest sword.
its 183 vs 172

How are people having difficulties with the smithing minigame?
I do not even try doing it perfectly, i just bang around with the hammer along the length, just making sure i keep a constant power and rhytm, never staying around the same part too long, most of the time i do not even flip the work and everything i create is T4.

He's right I just tested it with level 30 crafting with Martin's Secrets and only got a tier 3

I haven't been able to reforge it to tier IV but its already so overpowered that I don't see a real reason to. At tier III it kills fully armored enemies in just a few hits

you get 4 options at the end, if you chose adventure or warrior he will give the sword back to you, if you chose the others radzig keeps the sword.
