It sounds like you guys just want assassin’s creed style litter all over the map and don’t understand that this game is going for realism. In the first 30 minutes I spend in the open world, I had 5 or so terrific and unexpected encounters, from people and from animals. Not to mention the incredible locations, atmosphere and audio. It’s as if you’re actually inside of the game with headphones on.
KCD2 is better in gameplay alone.
There’s far more polish and less bugs as would be expected by such a large sequel.
The writing, character presentation and representation
And tone, among other aspects are notably different.
KCD1 is better, but KCD2 is great too
Just my opinion. I never said KCD2 is bad, and I haven't finished it yet, looks like it gets buggier. And may be game opens up later. I spent around 60 hrs in chapter1 (before the wedding) because I like free roaming "sidequests/activities" play more than story quests railroading.
I played KCD1 three times: release, hardcore and full DLCs hardcore. I think KCD1, while released in a rough state, came to its own later with DLCs and has more complex game mechanics and overall better "immersion".
while the first one was a masterpiece.
it has everything going for it, better combat, smooth, better engine, better larger story.
more complicated stuff, very diverse quests, etc etc etc
if you RP this story is wonderful , like a second novel of a book series you love.
if you play this on statistics, like a first person shooter, you probably won't get much out of it since the value is in the story.
literally the RP in RPG.
i've very much enjoyed it.
will i take a small break , then come back and finish all the side quests i've skipped, fo' damn sure.
9.5/10 with 10/10 legendary if DLCs are good.
incredibly good base to build stories on.
you can narrate this ♥♥♥♥ is so cinematic.

I changed my opinion. Kuttenberg map and amount of content is just massive. Latest Nvidia drivers have updated AI profile and visuals are just amazing.
