Or you could just remember to save?
The lack of autosave is a design choice that forces the player to think about their choices and actions before making them. To force the player to prepare before heading out into the woods to be killed by a group of bandits. To force the player to engage with it's systems like bartering and crafting of savior schaps. For the sake of immersion.

If you just want to 'no-brain' the game then there's a mod for that. A few mods that can make the game for casuals.
Otherwise, stop whining.
Don't go near those the rock/stone cliffs the pull you over then into the ground you go.
just download a mod for saving m8
There are console commands to enable free saving for the session. You need to retype the command at the beginning of each play session. Or mods.

Yeah just get the mod, this game has too much jank for autosaves. Saviour schnapps is lame because you can just grind out dozens as soon as you start the game.

I'm guessing you're young. There was a day and age where manually saving was the only way. Modern games tend to make players pick up bad habits.
Either way, yes you're right it's difficult to find belladonna. Just Google it. There's a nice spot full of them near Zhelejov (24 of them iirc). Sometimes you can buy it from the alchemist which makes it much cheaper.
And crafting does take a bit long, but when you create a potion it spits out 2 and then you can get a skill that will give 3 for each one you make. And you level up alchemy ridiculously fast.

So either download a mod (boring) or google where you can find belladonna and create a bunch of saviour schapps. 15 minutes of crafting can net about 25 schnapps with the skill upgrade, 15 without.

"Modern games tend to make players pick up bad habits. "
No. Games advanced, quality of life features are great, and this game is worse for not having them.
100% skill issue.
