Which is the best shield for you, and why?

I like the pavise because of hits high hit points. But I think the knights shield is the best because of its defense value?

everyone I've talked to personal say using shields aren't worth it, I have 2 fancy shields I've gotten out of graves and stored in my box but I've sold all the rest and haven't even bothered trying them. I'm using a two handed sword and a war hammer now anyways.

Shields are awesome. Especially when fighting groups and ranged. I think the shield protects your left side from attacks by enemies on that side. (Enemies that you have not targeted.)

I'm using one handed sword and due to many perks buffing fighting without shield I'm not using any. When I get 4th slot, I'll try using it with mace and probably go for Leipa just for the looks.

So far I have been using the Shield of Summer the most.
250 Defense and 42 Durability is a good combination.

There are many shields that are only 200-225 Def with similar durability. And the shields with 263 Def all seem to be like 25 durability, so I like the Summer shield.

I just have full armor, a two handed sword for fighting other sword users and a war hammer for everything else.

I'm over a hundred hours in the game and haven't finished leveling up or doing all of the quests I want to on the first map yet. I haven't used a shield yet. I suppose I'll start adding that into my build once I get one-handed built up enough to satisfy me without it. I only just started working with heavy weapons and pole weapons. I do love using the bandits that took over the camp my company was slaughtered in, as training dummies. ;)

I usually play with a twohanded swords but when I´m using a one handed sword and shield then I prefer the kuman shield simply because it looks like a viking shield which I like a lot.

Shields are pretty great against bigger groups with archers and early on ehen blocking is hard. I like to dps but master strikes are boring and axes are awesome so i use axe only (sadly there are no 2h axes/maces). It's better just because you get a bit more damage without shield

If you mean stats wise, then the best shield is the Lord of Holohlavy Heater Shield, which you can get by helping him in side quest Lost honor.

It is one of only two shields which have defence value of 275 (highest one in the game), and it has the highest possible durability possible in the game of value 50.

There is no better shield, because other shields, which have same durability value, have significantly lower defence value of 200. And the second shield with defence value 275 - Lord of Suchotlesky Heater Shield- has durability value of only 25
