Weapon strength requirement

Where do I see what strength I need to use a certain weapon. I'm early game, my strength stat is 6 but I can't see where that translates to weapon use.

I've got a hunting sword with base stat of 56 so that surely isn't the required strength given max stat is 30 isnt it?
