How can I raise reputation with charcoal burners?

For some reason my reputation with them dropped to 36, I have no idea what I did wrong besides going to their camp to kill handsome charlie in a fair 1 v 1 duel, looted him after and took his keys and rushed to the chest to open it up without anyone seeing me. Me being a completionist and honorable it bugs me that their rep is the only one not maxxed, even with my perk where I spread my reputation didn't seem to work with them? I was wondering is there any of them I can trade with to raise it that way?

In my game, my reputation with them is at 0 since the very beginning and it never moved up or down. When I went there to kill Handsome Charlie, I goaded him in a duel and after I brutally took him out with a masterstrike, I looted a chest. One of them saw me and "reported me to the guards" and I supposedly became seen as a thief, but with no effect whatsoever. Everybody is still friendly and guards routinely praise my politeness.

So, the charcoal burners basically are meant to be hostile to you as a quest mechanic because, you know, charcoal burners. I don't think that there is any way to raise your reputation with them.

after launching my game again I somehow raised my reputation with them after talking to gules saying they 'thanked me for sparing them' so I got some grochen, and they didn't see me steal luckily so there was no crime reported. I have no clue how but rn my reputation is 63 with them. I have the perk where my rep goes up with other ones too but it seems like certain ones raises the charcoal burner reps. I tried getting rep from buying from the huntsman merchent near Semine/the mills to get the rep up more but I have no clue why it didn't go up since it's part of the 'people of the forest' category

My reputation with them went to red after I killed the poacher/bandit. I killed him during night and noone saw me but my reputation was still red. It sort of broke the game as I could not do shooting range contests as one of the random participants could be a charcoal burner that would freak out and run away or attack me. This would cancel the competition, break the script and freeze the relevant NPCs.

I eventually paid the fee to indulgence chest to fix my reputation--this increased it from red to orange and charcoal burners no longer aggro on me on sight.

I liked the charcoal burners in KCD but these idiots can kiss my arse.

Had everything at 100, everybody absolutely loved me.

*Boom* and now Charcoal Burners are -14. And since I had the perk that spreads reputation impact wider, most all dropped down to ~70's.

update, the charcoal burners is at max rep again, just keep on avoiding getting caught and losing rep and you will be fine, they slowly got up to 100
