how do I wash blood out of unequipped clothes?

I know the bathhouses will clean the equipped outfits but I was surprised to see they don't clean the unequipped outfits either. Do I actually have to wear the clothes and then pay to wash them at a bathhouse or wash them in a lake once I find soap?

You can do laundry yourself in certain spots on the map if you got some soap. To just clean the blood you don’t even need to use a lot of it and can clean everything in your inventory.
