Tomcat sword training
This game pisses me off.

WHY DIDNT YOU FOLLOW THROUGH? WHY DID YOU PAUSE? WRONG DIRRECTION! WHY DIDNT YOU FOLLOW THROUGH? WHY DIDNT YOU FOLLOW THROUGH? WHY DID YOU PAUSE? WRONG DIRRECTION! WHY DIDNT YOU FOLLOW THROUGH? WHY DIDNT YOU FOLLOW THROUGH? WHY DID YOU PAUSE? WRONG DIRRECTION! WHY DIDNT YOU FOLLOW THROUGH?

ive done it a thousand times. ive followed everyones various crazy ideas on how to get it to work. ive turned it off and on again for christ sake even... TOP RIGHT LEFT TOP RIGHT LEFT TOP RIGHT LEFT TOP RIGHT LEFT TOP RIGHT LEFT TOP RIGHT LEFT TOP RIGHT LEFT TOP RIGHT LEFT TOP RIGHT LEFT TOP RIGHT LEFT TOP RIGHT LEFT TOP RIGHT LEFT TOP RIGHT LEFT FOR HOURS!

RECORDED IT EVEN IT IS INFACT TOP RIGHT LEFT, game doesnt even LET you do a left swing most the time. How are so many people having this issue and its not fixed? Its this early in the game and its broken.

It's a timing thing. I can only get that combo to work maybe half the time.

Move mouse up and click, move mouse right and click, do not move mouse left and just click. Every time you swing, your follow through repositions your weapon. When you start the combo with an overhead, your follow through ends up with your weapon to the left, so you have to move it to the right for the second part of the combo, and your second swing places your weapon back to the left and trying to reposition by moving the mouse messes up the combo. Devs screwed up by placing the tutorial popup for this AFTER you finish combo training with Tomcat instead of before or during.

If your agility and sword skill is too low your swings actually will be too slow to count in a combo maybe?
When you land your first hit, the next direction (right) will flash white. Use that to know the timming, If you sucessfully time it, then left will flash next.

At the begening Henry is so bad that it barley possible to be fast enough. A couple of xp in sword and agility will help a lot for this.

Managed to slap him around a bit and increase agility/strength a bit for free. Might help?

I got it to read 1/2 combos but then spent the next 15 minutes slapping him around doing nothing more than exactly what you suggested... This ♥♥♥♥ is so janked and bugged.. but at least it read the first combo after probably 3 hours of slapping him around

I think this is indeed bugged and not intended. If you look into the combo tab you'll see that for onehanded swords the first combo is missing. I think that is why people have issues with the quest. Henry literally dosent have to combo available to him... Try loading a save anbd restart the quest. Maybe that'll fix it?

Do what he asks, and then he stops telling you.

Pretty simple.

If you can't cope, then come back when you can. I don't mean that harshly, but the game literally tells you what to do, do it, then there is no problem. If you can't then you have failed the first test, and I don't know what to tell you.

Mine didn't work either. Henry wouldn't swing. I just killed him. No more quest marker.
It worked for me after I thought I did it wrong but yeah. Somehow feels the directions obey you less than they did in the first one.

Funny how the training is way harder than the practical combat in the game.

I was really hopeful but no. This did not result in a successful combo. I wonder if its to do with the latency between my wireless mouse and the computer?
Are you using a wired mouse? And if its wireless do you happen to know its latency?
You have to tap the mouse button. Tap up, Tap right, tap left. Not to slow.

Maybe if you have a decent mouse. I think my latency is too high. It was a cheap mouse anyway. ;)
