Map Unlocking and Showing Areas not visted
The map is showing areas and markers for areas I have no visited (starting a 2nd save file) yet in the starting area, I also noticed that when I talked to the trader in the first town after being in the stocks, he talks about his cart tipping over in the water and henry says "I saw that cart" even though I have yet to come across the cart in this playthrough. I also noticed I can fast travel to any town on the map even though I have yet to find the town...

There's a perk called Explorer under the Scholarship tree that reveals the entire map and allows you to fast travel to any fast travel point. Maybe your game has a bug that unlocked the benefits of that perk without you taking it.

ya must be since it's the very start of a new playthrough

Ya it has to be a confirmed bug, since its at the very start of game and did not unlock it on map, so shouldn't be showing.
