Why denuvo?

I don't preorder games nowadays, but I won't be touching this one... if the Denuvo rumour is true. Otherwise I would have purchased at release.

Can't preorder it (as there is no GOG release) and won't buy it at all as it stands now as there is Denuvo.

This is Embracer's big-time investment right now. It's basically all hands on deck for this game's release; a lot is riding on its success, so to curtail any possible piracy and maximise sales, they've decided to use Denuvo. It's not the ideal solution, but it's a proven method of delaying cracks.

It's still half a year out... if you're preordering on Steam because it's not on GOG now you're ordering it because you want it on Steam, not because it's not on GOG. If you want it on GOG you'd wait to see if it opened up there.

Just goes to show nobody cares about Denuvo anymore. It used to be a major boogeyman, now there's zero backlash. Wukong, Lies of P, Dragon's Dogma 2, Monster Hunter Wilds... nobody cares.
