WHERE ARE THE GUN MODS
iv been disappointed to see there are NO mods adding more interesting historically accurate firearms.
so id like to kick-start a discussing for their implementation via modding.
for starters, id like to see the Arquebus, seeing as we are already dealing with the Ottomans.

"The earliest known examples of an "arquebus" date back to 1411 in Europe and no later than 1425 in the Ottoman Empire. This early firearm was a hand cannon, whose roots trace back to China, with a serpentine lever to hold matches. However it did not have the matchlock mechanism traditionally associated with the arquebus. The exact dating of the matchlock addition is disputed. The first references to the use of what may have been arquebuses (tüfek) by the Janissary corps of the Ottoman army date them from 1394 to 1465. However, it is unclear whether these were arquebuses or small cannons as late as 1444, but according to Gábor Ágoston the fact that they were listed separately from cannons in mid-15th century inventories suggest they were handheld firearms."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arquebus#:~:text=musketry%20volley%20formation-,Origins,serpentine%20lever%20to%20hold%20matches.

In the future when people start creating quests, it could be cool to have it implemented this early in time due to a Ottoman prototype or something.

The game events take place in 1403.

I am aware... as i said this is a non issue due to the ambiguity around the actual origins of the weapon. and it could be a prototype.

Thank you, now I understand you, but still - firearms are useless in the game (just like IRL until the late 17th century), hence it's quite obvious why people don't want to waste their time on useless historical inaccurate mod. If you want you could do it yourself :-)

there is also those cool late 14th century german shoulder mounted bombards... the ones that look like rocket launchers. those would be cool too

well, Czechs had developed "pistole" during that time.. thats why it is in the game... Arquebus is later design, which was developed from "Hook gun" - which was pretty much a hand gun (pistole) with additional hook, which could be fixed against obstacle and help with the weapon recoil..

thats a dumb position considering we are discussing MODS.
there are mods to add a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 50 cal.
a zebra mount.
instant animations.
a keyblade sword.

bad take

I would love to try but im a Masters student atm :( maybe soon-ish

anyways... my idea is atleast trying to work with the framework and allow us gun lovers to have fun too

I think you've missed my point. .50 is a great fun adition to the game, if added with realistic properties. Realistic handguns until the late 17 century were literally useless sh1t, the same as represented in the game.

The game itself is NOT historically accurate already. its historical fiction you know? theyve fudged dates for the sake of a story. so.... adding some new toys with some wiggle room seems fine to me. idc if they were impractical more or less in single combat (no volley capabilities). Itll be a cool addition to my gear, and fun as ♥♥♥♥ to use.

Sorry, I'm not interested in side topics. Just explained my motivation why I wouldn't make such a mod. You could still do it yourself. Have a nice day.
