Storm Mission - Black Screen

Hey guys, I need help.

After starting the Storm mission and finishing the torture part, the game should technically switch to the scene where Katherine appears, but it gets stuck on a completely black screen—there’s not even a loading symbol. Any solution for this? I’ve invested 70 hours.

I can tab out with the keyboard, go back to the game, and even the yellow cursor appears, but nothing else happens. In the task manager, it's not marked as 'Not Responding'.

I've tried verifying the files, running the game as an administrator, removing some text mods I had, and loading the checkpoint before the siege. I don't know if I should restart the entire mission or what. I appreciate any advice.

hm, I think they screwed up

There were quite a few issues with the rain system - which sucked anyway - and they supposedly fixed the rain the system indoors - in your case, I fear they made it worse

Definitely will be fixed though

Emmm interesting issue. I’d say trying putting graphic setting to minimum to see if that solves it.
Normally I don’t just tell people update graphic driver. But something is clearly missing and you already listed all the usually “missing” parts

Of non of it solves your issue, then the new graphics tweak is probably the reason. Can only wait for new update

I think there was a misunderstanding. I was referring to the 'Storm Mission,' not the in-game rain

Nah, there's no misunderstanding

The Storm mission involves a ton of rain - hence why it's called storm and it actually covers your movement noises.

Anyway, played through it a lot:

Follow the dude with the torch parallely, then it's down left, right through the ravine until you find the bound up lad.

Just krch the guy, unbind the dude

Then walk way ahead through another ravine through a sort of valley, don't fight anyone.
There's a really clear line there to get out of it, just don't fk anyone

What happens is that I haven't even been able to start the mission. The torture scene plays, I finish the interrogation with Istvan, and when he gets the information, he says goodbye. Then, the cutscene where Katherine appears and saves you (I already got spoiled) should play, but none of that happens. My only option left is to try uninstalling and reinstalling the game tomorrow to see if it works.

Possible solution after the ones I mentioned in the initial comment.

NVIDIA released an update that allowed my graphics card to "adjust" performance, which wasn’t possible before (this update was released on March 5, and I installed it on the 16th or 17th). The day after experiencing the issue, I disabled the NVIDIA settings, verified the game cache, and lowered everything to the minimum in the KCD2 menu. Then, I reached the same scene where Istvan says goodbye, and the Katherine cutscene finally played. I also had the game in windowed mode, so don’t forget that detail. Just to clarify, I didn’t have any mods installed either.

I hope this helps anyone who had or is having the same issue.

The problem was what happened between 1:29 and 1:35, which was an infinite black screen. In the video, you can see that it’s working now.

I had the same issue after finding Pebbles, was stuck in some screen forever. I reloaded the game, bought another horse and forgot about Pebbles. Yes, I know Pebbles is supposed to be the best horse after a while.
