KCD2 Won't Launch After Patch / Steam Update

I've updated both the game and Steam version and now KCDII won't load up at all. Anyone else come across this? I've tried resetting. Any help would be much appreciated!

For me it was my antivirus. I activated a wrong setting in Bitdefender.

Same here. no mods everything was fine, then patch. Now it hangs in downloading for hours and wont launch. Was ok game but i wont lose sleep just money

Same for me as well, I have tried everything..my previous game does load and everything is fine except for it being a little glitchy. Starting a new game is the only issue, after the first cutscene there is the infinite loading screen. I have tried playing in window mode, updating driver, letting the game run as administrator, and reinstalling the game, etc.. hopefully they come out with a fix soon.

Also having the same issue. Just bought the game, installed, and got endless loading screen after opening cutscene. £50 well spent...Guess I'll wait for the Hotfix.

Just downloaded and started playing, 1st cutscene plays then gets stuck on the load screen, not expected for a full price game I must say.

I just wanna start new game, but after a patch, I stuck into a loading screen at the beginning and I cant start the first mission

I found skipping the cutscene worked and I've been playing without issue since then.

Main menu works, but once I try to load or continue, after Loading I got CTD. :-(
This is since the hotfix yesterday.

Okay I validated the files and restarted my pc as I was stuck in the load screen after the seige cut scene and game works fine for me hope this helps

Anyone playing on Steam Deck find a solution for this? After the hotfix the game is still not loading for me, huge bummer.
