The Italian Job
Not sure if this is a 'me' issue or a shared complaint that others have. Just want to vent.

The Italian Job quest is so full of problems, it was the least fun I've had in the game so far.

Firstly, I was told to get some clothing from Rosa. That clothing included noble basinet and one of the best cuirass in the game, among other things. After I collected that armour, I was over-encumbered so I figured I'd shift my original armour onto my horse. All good, I'm still wearing some of the best armour, right?

Wrong. The quest started and... I wasn't wearing ANY of the armour I was given? Instead I was in some cloth noble outfit with a cloth hat and no armour at all.

So when it came to any fight scenes I had to fight against dudes in full armour while I was basically wearing rags, and I never had an opportunity equip any other armour because the fight scenes all start immediately and "you can't use this item during a fight!".

I know there's an armoury in the courtyard where you can steal some armour, but I didn't equip it then because just a few minutes prior we were sat at a table and the dialogue said we would "go one-by-one to accomplish our tasks so nobody would notice". Yet, while looking around the courtyard I saw both Brabant and Capon stood idly in the shadows, who told me "you're suppose to be out there getting the guards!" What?? Well you guys are supposed to be sat remaining inconspicuous at the table so WTF is going on here?! So with all this in mind, I never changed into the armour I found because I thought the whole point was that we were meant to stay in our disguise gear. The information around what to do was such a mess.

Next, the part where the Praguers arrive and attack, after the cut-scene I immediately had three guys surrounding me (even though they were originally stood at the wall below), and of course my weapon wasn't drawn and no matter how much button-bashing I did, I just could not draw my weapon in time (so much for that 63GB patch which aimed to fix the worst bugs?). So I was being whacked from all sides -- still wearing zero armour.

And again, after getting back with all the silver when Brabant betrays us, in that fight scene it happened again, instantly surrounded by multiple enemies (even though the cut scene showed them nowhere near), and again no weapon drawn. Just chaos. And AGAIN no armour because from the point where the fighting gets started there is literally never an opportunity to change your gear - "you can't use this item during a fight!"

Also, when escaping through the tunnels, it was like I was in pure bugs-ville. Everyone in the group standing still at random spots saying "come on Henry let's go!", yet none of them were going anywhere at all? I went to each one and pressed 'E' to talk, and all I got was the stock dialogues like "Tell me about yourself" and "Teach me something." I had to just walk back through the tunnels alone while the rest of the group stood at the start like dumb mannequins.

The whole thing felt so haphazard and broken, which only felt worse due to how long that quest is. Cut-scene after cut-scene, fight after fight, constantly no armour because "you can't use this item in a fight".

All of that being said... this is actually one of the best games I have ever played, by far.

Just wanted to vent. It seems the bugs in the game are a roll of the dice so I expect some folk will say they had no problems at all. I actually don't encounter most of the bugs people have mentioned.

Here endeth my pointless venting post.
