Unable to find Goatskin.

So I am struck on this quest where I am unable to find Goatskin. Any way to resolve this?

It's a known bug. Warhorse is working on it, but it'll probably take a few days. If you don't want to loose progress, I'd recommend not to touch the quest in it's current state any further and do something else and hope it'll get fixed soon.

Goatskin is also not in the alley where he is supposed to attack the German. Neither during the day nor at night.
I deliberately left the main quest for last. I completed all the side quests + waited for patch 1.2

No, it's just broken if you were in the middle of the quest prior to the patch.

You can ask his girlfriend about his location, he won't be there and will never show up.

You can play dice with Udo until he runs out of money and goes home, he will go along the right side of the cathedral and go to another inn, nowhere near the normal path. He will also disappear entirely from the game afterward.

You can pass a speech check and lie to Udo about his cart being on fire or whatever, he will literally sit there forever after you pass it. Even if you wait past closing time he will continue sitting there. Even if you knock him out and carry him to the alley near Goatskin's hideout and allow someone to wake him, nothing happens.

Tried… it fails to open the game. Says unable to find dhll game file. I followed everything to the word. I am happy i was able to get it workin again

Found him by following the drunk German I beat at dice.

I am also playing on Xbox so that may have made a difference.

The fact that it's been 3 days since they broke this required quest and haven't fixed it yet is not acceptable.

Exactly! Been through the same ordeal.
In my case after some in-game days, character Udo’s icon is permanently stucked in a building close to the baths that i can’t reach :-(

So I got a working path. Finally.

I loaded up my save before starting to find the members of the Devil's band, like before talking to Kubyenka about the Devil's Pack immediately after dropping at the Devil's Den.

Directly ran to Katherine, talked to that chenysomthing chap about Goatskin and then directly ran to Goatskin's hide out.

And Goatskin was there.

I didn't load previous game files and etc, this was in the current patch.
But I lost 12-15hours of progress.

It's you that is not paying attention. People can and have forced him to leave and followed him all the way outside the city with no sign of an ambush.

Where in the original post does it say that? Show proof. Lot's of you guys stay making sh!t up about the game because you mad at warhorse.

I am not mad at warhorse, as I stated I already completed the game and thoroughly enjoyed it. The quest is clearly bugged for people who were part way through when the patch went live. The only option for those people is to revert back to a previous save (potentially losing many hours) or wait for a fix.

You guys, I think, should follow that German keeping a distance not to be noticed. I did this even without a torch for sure. German was attacked very soon in tiny passage that follows to the left of the stone stairs leading out of the tavern. It happens right at the moment I turned my view back to watch around, then when I turned my head back to the German he was standing face to face with that bastard Goatskin, trembling.

I tried every ways of the quest and they are all bugged :

- I've got drunk and scream around nothing happen.

- I got the location from Mary, went to his hideout and nothing happen even after waiting hours/days.

- I convince Udo to move or win 3 times in a row in dices game. He doesn't move from his chair. Even after the bath closes !
Even if I punch him, he just standup and do nothing....

There is no way to finish his quest for now....
