Patch 1.2 and stealth?
So I haven't had a lot of time to play since the patch, but I remember the patch notes vaguely saying they rebalanced stealth and apparently made stealth kills much harder to pull off. From what I did play last night, I noticed all of my gear were a lot louder, even my full stealth build with all cutpurse stuff went from a noise of 2-4 all the way up to around 30. My middle build of stealth and combat went up to 70 from 50 (probably because it uses a chainmail hauberk).

I heavily rely on stealth in this game and it's one of my favorite aspects of the KCD games... What are your guys' and gals' opinions of stealth after the 1.2 patch? Is it easier or harder?

I've gone around and found entirely new gear for stealth, and have my noise at 12 with visibility at 28, but currently still in Trosky. using the bootstrapped buffs for most things has really got my sound down, though visibility is still too high for my liking. I probably could get it a lot lower with just a hat, but found a kettle hat - dark that I've decided to keep so my skull doesnt get crushed on the occasions i fight. this is my "do everything" outfit, so not really optimized for any one task, so I'm sure you can get things quite a bit better. I havent tried chainmaile yet, as i remember needing to avoid that entirely pre-patch, old habits die hard and all
as for stealth kills and knockouts, i havent noticed a change, but i also dont do them until most skills are at least lvl 10.
Haven’t noticed much of a difference, but my stealth is at 30, so it might be a lot worse earlier on.

For me (stealth&thievery 30, noise 7, visibility between 10-15) it's the same. For me all that was nerfed/bugged is the Nighthawk indoors, which is almost same as no Nighthawk at all; need to use torch to see indoors.

I feel, and this is subjective observation impossible to quantify, that the stealth is a bit harder post patch 1.2. I could pretty much crawl full speed to enemy behind his back and stealth kill/knock them out without any issue. The same approach post patch often leads to the enemy noticing me and starts turning around and investigating. I can still slow down a bit and get behind him and take him out but it just can not be at full speed.

It’s what happens when you have a terrible developer that doesn’t post proper patch notes. You have to play the scientist to uncover wtf they’re talking about
I agree with Baron01, but I've not really had any issues with stealth in Patch 1.2.

Well their hearing is quite a bit better now - only thing I've noticed.

Takedowns however... not so much.
