[WORKAROUND] Solution for patch 1.2 fps drop
Here is a fix that works for me

You need to enable rebar (if your setup supports it)

You can follow this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DqcgHtkm9I

Now i have the same performance as before with my 5800X3D + 4080S

The resizebar has nothing to do with the performance issues since patch 1.2!
Trash. We need hotfix now.

It's not a fix. It's a pseudo solution. That's like saying your car broke down but you fixed it by having someone push the car around all the time.
block and report this youtuber for shilling his stupid youtube video that doesn't fix and is unrelated to the performance issues
Thank you :-)

This is the only thing that has helped me so far. Fps is still a bit worse and less stable than before the patch, but at least it's not down by half

I dont know what they did with the patch, but enabling the resizebar fixed the fps issue for me.

Before this workaround, i was running at 45-60 fps and now, 70-100fps as before

Here is a screenshot : https://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2025/11/5/1741942483-kcd2.jpg

i am running at 1400P, DLSS Native AA and everything at experimental except shadow and vegetation at ultra

Okay, i have to apologize forcing Resize Bar really works!

4k DLSS quality with experimental preset runs like prepatch

I think you can set shadow and vegetationt to ultra and DLSS to native AA, would be way better than quality
can confirm this fixed my issues. nvidia profile inspector. kcd2 profile. rBAR-feature = enable, rBAR-options =0x00000001 , rBAR size limit = 0x0000000040000000 . hope this helps
This does work! 4090 owner, 9800X3D. Amazingly performance is close to pre-patch! Why a patch turned off previously working rebar support is another question entirely.

I will randomly check in and confirm the frame drops as well. Seem non consequential and random in a direction which doesn't make sense. It still plays well mostly but just goes from nearly 90-120 to 40-50. This is with a 4090/9800X3D at 4k DLSS quality with transformer.
Yeah, forcing rBAR actually works

I CONFIRM THIS WORKS.

The patch must have disabled rebar for some reason, probably oversight. Now I get 60fps stable as before, while after the patch I was dropping to 40s on same settings.

Wonderful!

Can confirm using nvidia profile inspector works. For example, the innkeeper area in Troskowitz was about 50 fps after the patch, now stable 120.
