Mice quest - bull doesn't drink from trough

I did it later day but it was still sunlight. Do I need to do it earlier in the day?

Hm, no problems here. Poured in the Lullaby, waited until midnight, painted a saddle on the bull

It was like afternoon or so when I poured in the lullaby.

Waited until midnight as said, lured the guard away with a stone, then the bull was right there ready for the paintjob.

Maybe it bugs out if you pour in the lullaby too late? Just a thought
