From what I've read when looking into this, apparently you can't really get it reforged until after the story. I saw I could reforge it when I got into Kuttenburg, and I haven't had a single forging go wrong and have been able to make master rank of everything EXCEPT the reforged sword. People are saying you don't really get to successfully reforge it into the master variant until after the story. Whether this has changed or not since I looked into it, I'm not sure.
The real question, is it morally correct to re forge it?
Pls can you re word the title and remove the spoiler because not everyone will know you get the sword back and/or can re forge it.
I reforged it easily enough, you do not have to finish it after the story. I did get visual bugs in that the correct place to strike the iron didn't match the visual place where I saw the sword. This was pre patch though so god knows how it works now but for me: going with the sparks worked
