62 GB update seriously!?
I'm tired of the developers laziness lately. If you can't manage to do an update, what's the point of trying to download the whole game from scratch? Will we have to download the game multiple times after every update from now on?

That said, I fixed this "update" for KCD 2 : game deleted from steam library : uninstalled.

Bro my download speed is 2mbps SOMEBODY JUST KILL ME ALREADY
OOF dude that sucks bad it must take like 2 to 5 days to download a game at 40 to 100+gb's

The patch has been worked on since November, 5 months, nearly every file or piece of data that has been referenced or changed during that time needs re-downloading as steam can't just go into the relevant files and "write" new lines of code in itself.

Not to mention it's a patch that has added new dialogues and assets along with restructuring the game files for Workshop integration.

It's a video game, and one in the age where downloads of this size is nothing new. Download the patch, and go do something else for a while.

But there's got to be a better way. Why should I have to wait up to 8 hours everytime the devs want to patch a few bugs?

So your telling me that they knew about these issues and have been working on a patch since before the game even released instead of just working on the bugs before the game came out. Game came out Febuary 4th
Did they add extra Voyvoy ?

was hoping on playing when i got up i guess not

for 62gb i better get my lost FSP back when using a 7900 XTX vs RTX 4080/S 24 fps behind a 4080/S at ultra 30+ fps behind at high settings

Keep in mind that what you're downloading is simply replacing existing files, maybe even textures that were redesigned. There's a chance the 62 GB download doesn't completely add to the existing size for a total of some 150+ GB game.

I'll check the game's size to confirm that once I finish the download.

EDIT: Yeah, the game size is around 80 GB, which is still about as big as it was prior the update. It's really nothing to worry about folks, unless the download speed itself is the issue.

Way to just not read a thread, dude.

Steam isn't a language, and yes the engine can indeed utilize chunking, and almost certainly deltas. The question is: Do the developers know HOW?
Started the download this morning. Get in today and what do you know! This is the update.

Thats life eh. I'll watch some telly tonight instead and play tomorrow. Hehe.

I got my 100 hours out of this game any how. Might check it out again later when it is fixed up.
Some people just dont understand how updates work lol, There not adding 64GB of updates there re writing some of it thats why its a lot, There is probs only like 20GB worth of new content being added but most of it is updating what was already there, Man some people i swear....

patch was installed in 5 minutes who cares
You guys obviously neve4 had a large game installed before. Why are you even updating KCD2?
Idk what y'all talking about, my Steam says the update was 33% complete when I looked. It was at 82gb/246gb downloaded, so I only have another 164gbs to go. This new hairdo is gonna be on point!!
