Performance ♥♥♥♥ after update
before the update I had 120+fps with DLAA and everything on ultra on 1440p
now with DLSS 4 my FPS are no matter how I change DLSS, to quality, to transformer or what else, at around 60-80 depending on where I am so 50% fps loss without any reason ? is the update bugged ?

Update : FPS are jumping all over the place, it went from one of the smoothes game releases to unplayable for me on a 4080 super etc.

Update 2 : Did a clean install (got a 1gb connection) it didn't help at all, so I guess can only hope for them to fix it fast.

Last Update : there was a hotfix my frames are now even higher, now I get around 164 which is my monitore refreshrate with everything on ultra and DLAA on, its fixed for me and even smoother now, thanks :)

same problem 4070 Ti Super, 1440p
same here dropped from 500 fps to 499
playing 4K , all settings on Ultra

Before patch: 100 FPS

After patch: 60 FPS
My door at the devils Inn is still locked and I lost a few FPS. Really annoyed about the door, thought it was in patch notes.
Seems like its the e_MergedMeshesInstanceDist variable ... ultra has the value on 28 while experimental has it on 128

Just keeping vegetation to experimental and just lowering this one variable back to ultra 28 value, it gave me 14FPS boost.

Thing is 1. With ultra 28 value grass really doesnt look as nice, cause it adds shadows and detail do distant grass 2. Before the patch the value was also at 128 for experimental and the grass looked the same as it looks now, but without the crazy performance hit

Something is obviously broken here and needs to be fixed by the devs

So no, really no hidden setting were enabled so the game looks better now so its more taxing, it looks the same and devs just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up.

Like, i'll stand in a spot on a farm, and if i move an inch back, the fps drops to around 60, i then move slightly foward, fps goes to 80, move slightly back again, it goes down again to 60. No idea what is doing this, literally nothing rendered on screen is changing.

This happens to me as well, besides overal performance decrease, It makes the whole game feel jittery and unstable, whereas it ran silky smooth without a single stutter in 60 hours of pre patch playtime

My frames were not worth trading for a tight fade and a beard. Can I have my missing frames back?
Same. I appreciate the effort and all changes but big patches like this never work out well.
unfortunate, time to wait for the fix(and more mods!!!)
man for some reason i was expecting the same issue as everyone and frame are the same as before update 4070 with dlss quality on experimental im using a ultra autoexec config from nexus mod and getting same performance after update

Obviously this is not the case. Before the patch I was using a config that significantly increased the draw range of everything, including this parameter was set to 1000!!! and I was getting better performance than now after the patch without any tweaks or mods at all. For me, performance is now TWO times lower on any preset compared to the last version of the game. This patch is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up

Here is my config:

e_MergedMeshesViewViewDistRatio = 500
e_MergedMeshesActiveDist = 500
e_MergedMeshesInstanceDist = 1000

All of these parameters are SIGNIFICANTLY superior to the experimental preset and yet they didn't destroy my performance as much as this patch did

same issue on my side, had 80 stable fps, now 40, did clean reinstall and restarted the game from the very beginning
Was thinking of finally buying the game, but after seeing this I may just wait a bit longer for them to fully iron out the issues

So you "solved" it by reducing a setting that you had higher pre-patch, and now you supposedly get comparable performance with reduced settings? Cool solution, bro.:steamhappy:
