Hardcore Mode but still have compass?
brand new save game and no mods

Hardcore mode doesn't remove the compass entirely, it just hides the north west south east markings and hides objective markers until you get near them.

Open console with "~" and type "wh_ui_showCompass 0" command to disable the compass if you want.

So you have a directional compass? Or do you have a sectional strip that narrows your markers when your near?
