Is Alchemy even better than the first KCD?
Alchemy was easily my favorite part of the first KCD. I would spend an hour or more every time I went in there just loving every part of it. I don't know of any other game that has gone into so much detail with potion making. So, is it amazing? Please tell me it is...

In the first game you had to grind every herb before you start, otherwise it would take too long and the fire went out and that counted as mistake, but in this game the fire always burns and you can lift the pot to pause the process and you have time to grind or read the next steps in the recipe.
There are also new recipies and the potions are more powerful than in the last game.

Autobrew is no longer a thing. Boiling is much easier now; you raise and lower the cauldron rather than eye-balling the bubbles while using the bellows. You time your recipe the moment you plonk the cauldron down, flip the hourglass and back up. Bellows are now a new different kind of step for some recipes requiring a more aggressive boil.
Potions got tiers of quality like weak and strong depending how close you followed the recipe. Henry will now comment how you messed up if you didn't brew a good potion. "Was I suppose to grind something?" "I think I boiled the nettles too long."
There are new exclusive (can only take one or the other) perks that affects quantity made or how many mistakes can be ignored. There are two tiers of each, not requiring the previous to unlock so you can mix and match.
I like it more than in the first game. It's easier to start with, but it could be because Henry is assumed to already have some basic knowledge. Henry brews at least 2-3 phials each time, with various strength depending on accuracy. Controlling boiling is much easier in KCDII.

its better while not losing the appeal - the only thing i would add is that the best potions get your name on them - love that - 'Henrys merigold '

And alchemy in KCD 2 is better technically, animations are more smoothly and all the process feels more real than KCD 1, so it's better
