side quest to help Jan against Laszlo

I did this quest, we met and fought (I sided with Jan). the reward was supposed to be the sword of Peter his dead brother. But after the fight it is nowhere to be seen ?
Only loot that I see (besides Kumans) is the one on the cart with the shield and the plate that I should not steal.

If I recall right though, there's some argument over the equipment during the initial negotiation, maybe you failed a skill check there?

Only found that quest once so I'm not super certain but I could swear there was a skillcheck in regards to the guy's inventory.

Also - this will only work if you figured out what actually happened to the guy which needs some investigation.

In the cart for my game, there is only the dead body of Peter and a sack with loot without the Sword.
