No it wont, During a Q&A session with a youtuber, Toby, the PR manager said there will not be save transfer from KCD to KCD 2.

Also he confirmed there will not be third person view , and savior shnaps is back.

It will 100% not be transfering, this is NOT the same game, it's a different game on a different engine.

I should have said they weren't using the same version. The CryEngine version that they're using in KCD2 wasn't even thought of yet. And the versions make a huge impact because of all the features they added to it, from 2018 to now.

Wait, why would save data need to transfer?

He's thinking about this game like it's the continuation of the first game, but it isn't.

It is a continuation of the first game, it just disregards your saves from the former.

Idk how many times I have to keep explaining this to people, it's NOT a continuation of the first game, it is a continuation of the story but NOT the game. The difference being the engine has been upgraded to a much higher version to be able to do tons of things that were not possible in 2018 version of the CryEngine. And also the map is different from the original map. So the question you're really asking is "could you bring the stats and items I had from the original into the new game?" And the answer is NO. If you were a dev what possible logic would there be in literally allowing players to start with a bunch of maxed out characters?

Semantics.

It's the sequel/continuation of the original game/story.

I personally don't care about loading my save.

Neither do I. I prefer a fresh game 1st time through every time.

Yeah or it kinda feels a little like cheating sometimes, depending on the game. Half of the fun is building up character stats and having to work for weapons etc.

Don't think I've ever used New Game + apart from in TW3.

I prefer to build up, like that's the fun of any game for me. A lot of people love to get to endgame and then try to like min-max, but that's just boring for me. The journey is way more fun, especially if you do it differently every time.

Yeah same for me, I'm a sucker for getting caught up in side quests rather than the story most of the time.

I hope they don't change those aspects too much.

Yea it looks like all of that will be the same, it's just gonna be a new bigger map and much better graphics/systems/etc.

hes thinking how Mass Effect is and Dragon Age, not items but like reputation, realationships etc like if you killed someone in the first game it will effect what happens in the 2nd.
