Haven't finished KCD2, but at this point I prefer KCD1. It seemed to have a more focused story and better pacing/flow. For example, you'd get your own "base" right away (bed & chest) and a series of quests gradually introducing you to mechanics of the game. KCD2 has no chest at the beginning and quests are all spread out throughout the first area with miles of travel in between. This ends up with you not knowing which quest to do first. I played for 25 hours before finding a quests that introduces me to blacksmithing and keep finding beginner quests that would have been nice to do when I started the game.
KCD1 felt more medieval and had better story, KCD2 has better graphic and smoother mechanics overall + polearms and gunpowder, which is great.

I actually enjoyed that. Feeling more lost and more of a filthy peasant than you were in the first game

But you're not. You're Jindřich of Skalitz, squire, Bailiff of Prbslavitsa, Master of Hunt in the Talmberk castle, and Chief Investigator of Sir Racek Kobyla.
KCD2 graphically, story wise, combat, pretty much superior in every way. KCD1 plays bland now in comparison and I went back to play it just to see what I thought and it still stands.

Well it makes sense that it means nothing in these parts.

Be thankful they didn't pull out the old Gothic 2 trick and went full amnesia trope lol.
It's a game, there had to be some kind of a reset
Some particular quests are frustrating (For whom the bell tolls and the forest stealth mission) and unfun compared to KCD1 but other than that, KCD 2 is an improvement. Hand cannons, polearms and crossbows are epic

KCD2 additionally has more higher stakes, action, politics and things going on. Which makes the story engaging.

I'm surprised anybody would say KCD1. To me it's not even a contest. KCD2.

what was the event?
The answers are funny here. Seems if you are right wing, you hate 2 and if you are normal, KCD 2 in better.

There's your answer.
kcd2

There's no right answer of which quest to do first. You can do none if you want and just start hunting, or doing alchemy. KCD2 is almost a sandbox.

KCD 2 no doubt

KCD1 had some great DLC's pribyzlatvitz and Band of Bastards in particular. As far as the base games go KCD2 is superior in almost every category I can think of though. Just need hardcore mode and some bugs to be patched
