UPD: the only bum in that mission is the absence of shortcut gameover - no option to become a monk forever.
Lmao, this guy wants to do nothing but silently eat stew every morning and copy manuscripts until the end of time....
Nah, that ending was bullsh*t. Nothing substantive is gained by talking to your hallucination of Martin, and the loose ends aren't sufficiently tied for me to be cool with this being the end of Henry's story (unless there's a dope DLC or third game in the works, just saying you can rebuild Skalitz, settle down with Katherine/Theresa isn't enough).
Combat though (Herny got Masterstriked be everthing; dogs) wasn´t nice, they did better in KCD 2 as well as graphicwise but then again they wanted to appeal to a much broader audience (nothing wrong with that) and with that they lost something in the way. To many ideas, much more bloated with everything.
KCD 2 bored me to be honest. The game is at the moment not able to convince me staying in for hours and hours which the first part definetly did without a question. And I played the buggy mess right from the start and am still playing.
KCD 2 wants to be funny, it wants to be correct in many ways of modern society and that don´t goes well with me because of KCD 1 (if it was something like Baldurs Gate no one would have even noticed or more, would have been angry in the first place). Remember the "Code of Conduct" here?
Regardless of that there are many improvements in the second part like better hitboxes for herbpicking, usefull skills, a mechanic for Henry not getting Masterstriked, the Wardrobe, smithing, getting hanged if...but then again they added quicktime events, changes in potions making (and the font used in the book are just bad, imo), a less responsve horse (in KCD 1 while you mount the horse you can already get it start running - not unrealistic) and a dumbed down combat which is much less realistic (as if in reallife in a 4 vs 1 one only have to fight one...nope. You know what you are doing or you get smashed, harsh, unfair, realistic), questdesigne is lacking or just less interesting for me.
I will give KCD 2 another shot as soon as DLCs and patches are out but overall KCD 1 has just more essence whereas KCD 2 is to bloated and wants to please a bigger audience which they didn´t with the first part in my opinion.
I assure you, nobody who argues KCD1 is better than 2 was ever a real KCD fan.
Pretty much all of them do it for ideological reasons.
